RCPS Jamestown 2007
In 1606 more than 100 Englishmen sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in search of riches and rewards in the New World. In 1607 they created a new colony on the banks of the river we now call the James River, naming their new found home Jamestown. The Jamestown Colony was founded 13 years before the Pilgrims landed in Plymouth Massachuetts. Their will to survive was the only thing that kept many of those first colonists alive during several horrible years.

Use the following link and go on an archeological dig in historic Jamestown.
At this site, you are an archeologist digging for artifacts at Jamestown. You will be asked to identify and catalog the artifacts you uncover in your dig. In another activity you will be asked to recreate a building from historic Jamestown using the single post hole found during a dig as the blueprint for the building. Oh yes, you are also on a strict budget and can't "break the bank" or you building project will be shut down.
Good Luck!
